TRADITIONAL RULERS ARE KEY PARTNERS IN PROGRESS – GOV. ABIODUN
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has described traditional rulers as key partners in progress, whose advisory roles have significantly contributed to the growth and development recorded in the State.

The Governor made this assertion during the Installation and Presentation of the Staff of Office to the newly installed Towulade of Akinale, Oba Oluseyi Adediran, in Ewekoro Local Government Area.

Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, Governor Abiodun reaffirmed his administration's commitment to implementing policies and programmes that would create prosperity across all sectors of the State's economy, urging the new Monarch to see his appointment as a call to serve, with a focus on driving socio-economic development in Akinale and Egbaland.

"As a Monarch, you must mobilise your people in a way that supports our administration's 'Building Our Future Together' agenda in Ogun State," he said.

He advised the Oba to be a father to all, regardless of political, religious, or social affiliations, emphasising that the support and cooperation of the people would be crucial to the success of his reign and the development of his domain.

On his part, Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Adesina, thanked the Governor for the honour bestowed upon Akinale, describing it as a major milestone for the Local Government.

He called on all indigenes to support the new Monarch in moving Akinale to a greater height, while praying for his good health, long life and divine wisdom to lead rightly.

Remarking, Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Prof. Saka Matemilola, represented by the Alawowo of Awowo, Oba Olasunkanmi Tijani, congratulated the Monarch on his Installation as the Towulade of Akinale, advising him to operate an open-door policy and stay away from all land-grabbing activities.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Oluseyi Adediran expressed gratitude to the Governor for the honour conferred upon him, pledging to uphold the values of his community and Yoruba land, while promising to promote peace, unity and development for the benefit of Akinale and its environs.
