Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has urged the Chairmen of the 20 Local Governments across the state to pursue administrative excellence to promote equitable growth and development at the grassroots level.
Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, the Governor delivered this message during the allocation and presentation of official sport utility vehicles (SUVs) to all Local Government Chairmen, held at the Government House in Abeokuta.
"Our administration is acutely aware of the challenges faced by our people at the grassroots and the obstacles confronting the government in delivering essential services. These vehicles are provided to facilitate swift and efficient outreach to the grassroots, as required by the demands of governance," he stated.
Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) and Odeda Local Government, Hon. Folashade Adeyemo, commended Governor Abiodun as a leader who fulfills his promises. She urged all recipients to remain committed to the state's rebuilding agenda.
"These vehicles will significantly enhance efficiency. As the local government is closest to rural communities, this mobility will aid in reaching remote areas, monitoring projects, and engaging with rural communities," she noted.
Hon. Olusola Akinbode of Yewa-North and Hon. Afolabi Odulate of Sagamu Local Government expressed their gratitude for the initiative, pledging to continue supporting the current administration's legacy.
