MONARCH ADVOCATES MILITARY COLLABORATION TO STRENGTHEN SECURITY
Military collaboration with all other security agencies has been described as a workable route to strengthen the security architecture of the country and foster development.
The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, HRM. Oba Babatunde Ajayi, stated this while receiving the 35 Artillery Brigade Commander, Alamala, Abeokuta, Brigadier General Tijani Rabe, alongside senior officers of the Brigade on a courtesy visit to his palace at Ita Oba, Sagamu.
Oba Ajayi noted that the visit was timely as issues of mutual interest were discussed, stressing the need to strengthen collaboration between the Nigerian Army, other security forces and the communities in order to promote security, peace and stability in the neighbourhoods.
“Sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere where lives and properties are protected and where mutual trust exists between security institutions and the people,” he said.
He emphasised that cooperation between traditional institutions and security agencies remained essential in addressing security challenges, stressing the need to continue to create an enabling environment to enhance socio-economic development in the society.
The Monarch appreciated the Commander and his entourage for their commitment to strengthen civil-military relationship, adding that such engagement was necessary to enhance public confidence and reinforce the shared responsibility to safeguard communities and advance national development.
In his remarks, Brigadier General Tijani Rabe, appreciated the Monarch for the warm reception, pledging the military’s continued support to ensure security, peace and stability in the society.
