Ogun Records Over 80% Shift from Private to Public Schools Ogun State has recorded a massive influx of students from private schools into its flagship public secondary schools, with more than 80 per cent of parents reportedly moving their children to the state-owned institutions. The development, according to the state government, is attributed to improvements in educational standards, learning environments and students’ moral conduct across the flagship schools. Speaking at a press conference held at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology’s Conference Room, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, said the state had witnessed unprecedented admission into its flagship schools. Ogun Warns Teachers, Schools Against Illegal Fees, Farm Tool Demands.... Charges Parents, Administrators on School Security The Ogun State Government has warned teachers in public schools against compelling students to purchase cutlasses, hoes, brooms and other farm implements as a condition for resumption, describing such practices as unacceptable. The government also charged administrators of public and private schools, parents and other stakeholders to strengthen collaboration with security agencies to ensure the safety of schools and guarantee a peaceful 2026/2027 academic session. CONFIRMATION/PROMOTION TESTS, COMPULSORY EXAMS  BEGINS  ON WEDNESDAY  The Ogun State Government through the Bureau of Establishments and Training, Office of the Head of Service has concluded arrangements to commence the June 2026 edition of the Combined Confirmation/ Promotion Tests and Compulsory Examinations for Officers in the Junior, Sub-Professional and Professional Cadres in the Civil/Public Service of Ogun State from Wednesday, 9th to Friday, 11th September, 2026. A statement by the Permanent Secretary in the Bureau, Mr. Akintomiwa Osibodu indicated that the examinations will hold at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, Abeokuta at 9:00 am each day.
